Adventures in Pregnancy ~ My Little Acrobat

My daughter is such a silly little girl, and she isn’t even here yet! All day while I am in the office working she moves around in my tummy like she is climbing on a jungle gym. She doesn’t slow down, even when I arrive home and relax with my feet up.03-02-06_baby_in_womb.jpg

Then like clock work my husband comes home and sits next to us, gently placing his hand on my tummy to feel her move, and instantly she is quiet. Regardless of how long he sits there with us, she will not move. After a few minutes my husband will give up and remove his hand. Immediately our sneaky daughter moves, like crazy!

He claims she is lounging in my tummy giggling at this great game with her father. But I know that his feelings sometimes get hurt and he really wants to share this part of the pregnancy with me.

So, a few nights ago while we were lying in bed I decided to remove my standard pregnancy sleeping partner, my beloved body pillow, and press my tummy against my husbands back as he was sleeping. As I began to fall asleep, my husband started to squirm around and get really grumpy. Repeatedly, he mumbled for me to stop poking him. At this point I am having a very difficult time keeping my laughter in, because I know I am not poking him. A few complaints later he finally rolled around and glared at me. I just started laughing, as he stared at me with great bewilderment. A second later his face changed, like a light bulb went off in his head, and I know he realized it was the baby. Immediately he began to yell and scream with excitement. Then he looked down at my tummy and said, “I finally got you sneaky girl.” Then he kissed the stretching skin, rolled over and was almost immediately asleep.

After this happened, I began to wonder, when is it normal for other people to feel the baby move?
