Now that my son is two years old and is showing an interest in the computer, I recently did a quick search to see what computer software is available for toddlers. I strive to offer a balanced environment for him with toys, limited and monitored television watching, books, activities, field trips, and now the computer. Here are some highlights of software that I found, with most being reasonably priced between $9.99 and $24.99, brand new.
Reader Rabbit For Baby and Toddler- I actually just ordered this last week. We have used it two times and my son loves it! Introduces children ages 1-3 to singing, dancing, words, parts of the body, movement and more!
JumpStart Toddlers-Helps toddlers explore fundamental concepts from numbers and letters to colors and shapes, matching, pre-reading, pre-math, and more!
Let’s Start Learning- Encourages learning through several senses- seeing, hearing, and moving
Disney Learning Toddler- Features Mickey Mouse and Winnie the Pooh. Teaches children fundamental learning skills while encouraging creativity and imagination.
Caillou- Four Seasons of Fun-Caillou invites you on a year-round romp through the magical world of nature. Skills emphasized are letters, numbers, and shapes.
Fun Toys for Re-inforcing Learning!
*Fridge DJ by LeapFrog- My sister gave my son this when he was just barely 2 yrs old. He loves it! It is absolutely adorable with learning songs and lights. Place on the fridge, or kids can carry with them.
*LittleTouch LeapPad - We bought this for our son when he was 13 months old. He is still enjoying it, and will continue to do so even as he gets more independent. Builds early learning and reading skills. An interactive way to enjoy books!
* Magnetic and Foam Letters- Letters, letters, everywhere! Fridge letters can be bought at the dollar store, and are a classic children’s toy! I have to be careful that the 14 month old does not put the letters in his mouth, but he enjoys playing with them as well! Thanks to these and the bath time foam letters, my 2 year old knows most of his letters, and is teaching his younger brother along the way!

I love this blog! Thanks for another great topic, Lauren! I have to say, our favorite out of the list above were the foam letters and magnetic letters. We had letters from the bathtub to the fridge and everywhere inbetween if you know what I mean. Fun memories!
At 18 mo. our children began drawing and coloring. Imagine our delight to discover a CD made by Crayola!
You can find one in our mommy auctions store, FROM OUR DRESSER TO YOURS today!
