On Mommy Auctions, people are putting their faith in other users to be honest about their items, descriptions, and information. It is our duty to do what we can to insure the integrity of our users. We believe that verifying our sellers ID's is a very important part of our role to keep Mommy Auctions as safe and secure as possible. We are confident that our users agree!

You do not have to be verified in order to buy on Mommy Auctions, but doing so makes you a more appealing buyer. Sellers have an option of only allowing ID Verified buyers from bidding on their auctions. All the Sellers MUST be ID Verified in order to sell on Mommy Auctions.

Verified accounts will have a green heart next to the user name. Users who are not verified will have a red heart. Also, if you check the bottom of each listing, verified users will have a badge to let you know that they are 100% ID Verified!

You must be logged into your Mommy Auctions account in order to be ID Verified. Once you are logged in, please go to the member's area. Click on the details link and go to the bottom of the page for instructions.

If you do not have Paypal, please contact us at Support@MommyAuctions.com.
Once you have signed up for an account, you will need to become ID Verified in order to sell items on Mommy Auctions. After you register, you can become ID Verified through your "Details" page within the Members Area.

When you have successfully been ID Verified, you can click on the "Sell" button, which will take you to the page where you will be able to select the main category of the product(s) you want to sell. This feature has been made in order to ease the subcategory choosing process. No item(s) can be sold by choosing only the main category; you will have to choose a subcategory for it.

The second step, is entering the auction details, settings, and payment methods available. You will also be able to upload up to 4 pictures (for free) with your listing.

On the Auction Settings tab, you can choose the type of the auction, the start price, whether to activate buy now or set a reserve price. Also, you will be able to choose what type of bid increments to use, the progressive one implemented into the site or a custom one. If you choose the custom one, you will have to enter an increment value. You will also be able to choose whether to feature the item, and the duration of the auction.

After setting the location, shipping and payment, and by clicking on the Next Step button, you will be sent on to Step Three, where you can review the auction before submitting. If everything is in order, you can click on the Submit button, and will be taken to the payment page, or a confirmation page, if no fees have to be paid (only with featured options). The auction is activated once the payment is confirmed by the payment gateway, or instantly, if you have not chosen to feature your auction in any way.

If you have spotted an item you would like to place a bid on, you can do so quickly and easily by following these steps:

(1) Login to your account. If you have not registered, please do so by clicking the "Register" button above

(2) Visit the auction page of the item you would like to purchase

(3) Enter in your bid (you must bid above the minimum bid required)

(4) Click on the place bid button

(5) You will then be asked to confirm you bid, once you have done so your bid will be entered, if successful you will receive a confirmation message. If your bid fails to outbid the current high bidder, you will be offered the option to place a higher bid. Proxy bidding can aid your chances of winning an auction and help avoid you being outbid at the last moment. To place a proxy bid enter in the maximum price you are willing to pay for the item. If another user places a bid on the same auction, automatic bids will be placed on your behalf in accordance with your maximum bid amount. With proxy bidding you will pay the lowest possible price until someone else places a higher bid.

There is another way of bidding: Buy Now auctions. Buy Now prices are set by the seller, if you agree with that price, you can click on the Buy Now button which is displayed on the auction details page. After clicking on the button you will be re-directed to a confirmation page. On a standard auction, that auction will end instantly as the item has been sold via Buy Now. On a Dutch auction, you can enter the amount of items you wish to buy (depending the quantity available). If you do not purchase all of the items available, the auction will remain open with the number of items left available after you have purchased the amount you desire.

Setting up a store is very simple. Go to your Member's Area and click on "Store". Once there, you can activate your store by choosing "yes", enter in a store name, details, and logo. You can also choose to edit the categories listed in your store and the store pages (policies, shipping info, specials, contact info, etc.). Once you have finished, hit "save settings" and you are finished.

When you have a store, you will need to decide if you want your items listed in your store only, auction only, or both. We recommend having items listed in "BOTH" at all times. This allows people to browse your store to see all of the items you have for sale, but it also allows people to find your items in the general categories. If you choose to have your items listed in your store only, your items will not show up in the categories (the column on the left hand side). Also, if you choose to have your items listed by auction only, they will not show up in your store.

When you go to list an item for sale, it will first ask if you would like to list this item in your store, auction, or both. After you make your choice, it will take you through the normal process to sell an item.

Once you have successfully logged in, you will be redirected to the members area page. This page is divided into nine useful tabs:

1) Bidding

On this page, you will be able to see the items you are currently bidding on, as well as the status of the bids, items you have won, and watched items. By clicking on the Auction Watch link, you will be able to add keywords for auctions you're interested in. An email will be sent to you every time an auction that contains the keyword(s) in its name or description is submitted. By clicking on the View Details link from the Won Items area, you will be able to see the details of the seller, and make contact with them in order to complete the sale.

2) Selling

There are three areas available on this page. The My Opened Auctions area, where you will see details of auctions you currently have open; if no bids were submitted yet on an open auction, you are able to edit the auction. The My Closed Auctions area, where you will see the auctions submitted by yourself, and that were closed. You can choose to edit, delete or re-list a closed auction. On the Sold Items area, you will see the items you have sold, and by clicking on the View Details link, you will be redirected to a page where you will see the details of the buyer. You will have to pay for the end of auction fees in order for you to see the buyer details. If for some fluke reason the sale never goes through on the buyers end, you can claim back the end of auction fee. By clicking on the Claim back end of auction fee, a claim back request will be sent to the site administrator, and will be evaluated for refunding.

3) Reputation

From this page, you will be able to see the feedback you have received, and leave feedback for other users.

4) Details

You can edit your personal information using this page, except for your username. You can also change the password for the account. If the password and confirm password fields are left empty, and then the password will remain the same.

5) About Me

This is where you can create a personal profile with pictures and a description of yourself, your family, etc.

6) Store

If you chose to open a store on Mommy Auctions, then this is the place where you will enter your details about your store.

7) Wanted Ads

This is where you can submit and keep track of your wanted ads as both a buyer and a seller.

8) Bulk

If you would like to upload items using CSV or Turbolister, you can do so with our bulk lister. Please read the directions before use. Also, feel free to reach out to us if you should need any help with this. The Bulk Lister should be used when one has numerous items to list.

9) Abuse Report

Please use this button to report any users who are fraudulent, misusing the site, or mistreating the users in any way.

Once a sale has been processed, both the seller and the buyer will be able to leave feedback for each other. The feedback rating is from one star to five stars, and a feedback comment can also be left. The feedback can be left from the Reputation tab in the Members Area. The feedback can only be left once, and it cannot be edited afterwards. The site admin will reserve its right to delete malicious or untrue feedback.

The item watch features lets you keep a close eye on any auction without having to place a bid on it. This feature means that you can be kept up to date on how an auction is doing and prepares you to place a winning last minute bid. You can watch any auction by clicking on the Watch this item link on any auction page.

The auction watch feature notifies you of newly listed auctions which contain keywords you have chosen. For example if you are looking for a Britax Marathon you could enter in those keywords from within your members area. Each time a new auction is listed containing the term Britax Marathon you will be notified via Mommy Auctions. You can enter in as many keywords as you like.

On a Dutch Auction, the auctioneer has multiple of the same product for sale. The bidder will enter a maximum bid they are willing to pay for an item, and the number of items they want to purchase. The highest bidder(s) will receive the number of items they have bid on, and the remaining bidders will receive the number of items still available. Buyers are able to bid more than once for the same item.

Wanted ads are a new and increasingly popular feature. As a buyer, you can list ads for items you want and sellers can submit offers for items they are selling. It's a quick, simple and hassle free way of sellers being able to meet buyers demands.

Buyers

List a new wanted ad and wait for sellers to contact you with offers. If you receive an offer you're happy with you can bid on the item!

Sellers

Browse the wanted ads and if you see one that matches an item you're selling, make an offer, and tell the buyer you have just what they are looking for!
